Ponente: Lia Yeh (University of Oxford and Quantinuum)

Titulo: Recent Advances in ZX calculus

Resumen: The ZX calculus is a graphical language that provides an intuitive and elegant way to reason about quantum computing, rigorously backed by 300 research papers (cf. zxcalculus.com/publications). In this talk, we will introduce this calculus’s fundamental concepts and techniques. After introducing the basics and time permitting, we will overview diagrammatic reasoning of several quantum applications such as Quantum Teleportation, the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm, Measurement-Based Quantum Computing, and quantum computing for chemistry and condensed matter applications.

Dear all

The Quantum Thermodynamics and Computation group cordially invites you to the following seminar

Date: Friday 14 February

Time: 11:00 am

Location:  Computational Physics Laboratory, Department of Electromagnetism and Condensed Mater,  Ground Floor, Faculty of Science (next to the giant pendulum)

Speaker: Lia Yeh (University of Oxford and Quantinuum)

Title: Recent Advances in ZX calculus

Abstract: The ZX calculus is a graphical language that provides an intuitive and elegant way to reason about quantum computing, rigorously backed by 300 research papers (cf. zxcalculus.com/publications).

The seminar is accessible to undergraduate students, whom we strongly encourage to attend. For those of you unable to attend the seminar, we have set-up the following  google meet link for the upcoming seminar.
