Titutlo: Quantum Many-Body Metrology: From Precision Limits to Thermalization Bounds.
Resumen: What are the ultimate bounds nature imposes when quantum systems interact with heat? In this talk, we’ll look at this question from two complementary angles: parameter estimation and speed of thermalization. First, we explore how much information can be extracted from a quantum probe at thermal equilibrium, deriving fundamental bounds for the Quantum Fisher Information of thermal and ground state probes. But reaching equilibrium takes time. In the second part, we use a similar framework of Hamiltonian estimation to show that quantum mechanics places a strict speed limit on the thermalization process itself. At high temperatures, this limit is set by the Planckian dissipation time ($\tau \geq \hbar / 2k_B T$), while at low temperatures, it’s governed by the system's spectral gap.
