Dear colleagues

I am starting the ERC Advanced Grant "Typical and atypical structures in quantum theory", to be realized in Cracow at the Jagiellonian University.

Please find below the calls for the Postdoc and PhD positions paid from this grant.

The deadline is March 31 2025 and I will be obliged if you inform about it all qualified candidates who might be interested to come to Cracow in 2025.

The main goal of the project is to investigate the properties of typical quantum states and quantum channels, as well as to identify distinctive structures with extreme properties, useful for quantum information processing and quantum technologies.

Successful applicants will focus on one or more of the following areas - A) Typical quantum structures: taking advantage of recent developments in the theory of random matrices, we will study generic properties of random quantum states, random operations, random Lindblad generators and random supermaps. or - B) Atypical quantum structures: We will search for distinctive quantum structures with extremal properties. We will search for strongly entangled quantum states, generalised quantum measurements including mutually unbiased bases (MUB) and symmetric informationally complete measurements (SIC), and different kinds of quantum designs
